Yungang Grottoes site is one of the most beautiful archaeological site in China hosting many statues of Buddha carved out in the Wuzhou Mountain. The oldest statues date back to 450 A.D. and many of them were influenced by the Greco-Buddhist art flourished in Gandara area, nowadays belonging to Pakistan. Some of the caves is beautifully painted in bright colours.
