A buddhist monastery in Siberia.

The buddhist monastery located in Ivolginsky Datsan was established by Stalin’s order, following the great contribution of Buryat population during World War II. The monastery encloses in a square area a very peculiar mix of Tibetan style temples, colourful statues and Siberian wooden houses. Definitely a mandatory excursion from Ulan Ude.

I visited the monastery in Ivolga during my stay in Ulan Ude travelling around the world. If you want to read something more, you can find here below the article I wrote about it.
